About Me

Beata Kmak
 
 
  Beata comes from a musical family in Krakow, Poland and started playing the violin and piano as a child. She received her Diploma as Professional Musician-Instrumentalist (violin, piano) and a postgraduate certificate in Pedagogy from the renowned Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

  Beata has performed, recorded, taught and toured extensively in Europe with 'Male Slowianki', a Polish folk music and dance group, and has a particular interest in Klezmer music.

  As a teacher in Krakow she created an innovative 'Best Musician of the Year' competition, which included a variety of rewards and medals for musicianship and choreography.

  She has been teaching at the New School since she came to Ireland in 2006.
